STUDENT EXPECTATIONS

Students are expected to come to class prepared and ready to LEARN! The students will be given numerous handouts to help them complete the tasks independent of the teacher.  Therefore, coming to class prepared will be essential.  Students should bring their computer pocket folder, a pen or pencil, and a positive attitude.

LATE WORK

It is the responsibility of the student to get their make-up assignments when absent. Students are allowed one day for each day they have missed to complete the assignment.  Remember the computer work must be completed in the lab!  Late work begins at a 70.  Anything later than a week will not be accepted.

TEXTBOOKS

Students will not be issued a textbook.  Additional practice material will be provided for those students expressing a need for it.

TUTORIALS

Class attendance is important.  It is very difficult to “catch up” when lessons are missed in the lab.  If absence is unavoidable, it is the responsibility of the student to attend tutorials to make up the work.

As your child’s computer teacher, it is important that we be able to assess their skill level at the computer.  Therefore, other than research, NO COMPUTER LAB WORK IS ALLOWED TO BE COMPLETED AT HOME.  As a result of this requirement, a reasonable effort is always made to provide adequate time to complete the assignments during the class period.  In fact, you will find the due dates are often extended out to meet the needs of the students.   However, if your child is absent due to field trips, illness, in-school suspension, or suspension from school, they are expected to make up the work during computer tutorials.
