Bobby Summers
President, Place 1, Term Expires 2008
An alumni of Royse City High School and a lifetime resident of Royse City, Summers has been a school board member since 1996 and is currently serving his sixth year as Board President. He attended college at The University of North Texas and Texas A&M Commerce. Bobby is employed by the Advanced Financial Strategies Group as a financial professional in the area of financial retirement options, as well as financial planning and investments in relation to the educational field. Summers enjoys announcing football games for the Royse City Bulldogs and writing various articles about the school’s sports activities. He has been a member of the First United Methodist Church of Royse City for 42 years.
Jerry Richardson
Member, Place 2, Term Expires 2008
Jerry Richardson, an equipment engineer with Texas Instruments for 19 years, has been a resident of Royse City for 10 years. Mr. Richardson has an associates degree in electronics technology from the Arkansas College of Technology and will graduate in June 2007 from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management. An active member of the First Baptist Church in Royse City, Richardson is also an active volunteer and board member in Royse City’s Baseball and Basketball organizations.
Don Palmer
Vice President, Place 3, Term Expires 2009
Don Palmer was first elected in 2000 and is currently serving his fourth year as board vice president. Don earned the designation of Master Trustee and is a 2005 graduate of the state training program Leadership TASB. A Systems Engineer for Raytheon Corporation of Garland for 21 years, Mr. Palmer earned a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and a Masters of Science from Texas Tech. An active member of the First Baptist Church, Don is currently serving as Chairman of the Deacons and enjoys spending time with family and friends and watching football.
Rhonda Phillips
Member, Place 4, Term Expires 2009
Dr. Phillips was appointed to our Board in January 2000, to fill an unexpired term, then won her bid for Place 4 in the following May election. Phillips owns and operates Country Friends Veterinary Clinic in Royse City and earned her Veterinary of Medicine Degree from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. She is a member of First United Methodist Church, where she is actively involved with the youth programs.
Charlie Carroll
Member, Place 5, Term Expires 2009
Charlie Carroll is a retired educator with 36 years in teaching, coaching and campus administration. Mr. Carroll has a Bachelors of Science from North Texas State University and a Master of Education from Texas A&M Commerce. Mr. Carroll has live in Royse City since 1986 and is an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Royse City and enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.
Mike Stone
Secretary, Place 6, Term Expires 2010
Mike Stone and his family move to Royse City in 1995 and currently has three children enrolled in Royse City ISD. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Texas A&M @ Commerce and is a ‘79 graduate of Winnsboro High School. Mike is a freelance photojournalist covering sports, news and features; his clients include the Dallas Morning News and Reuters, among others. Mike’s work has been published in Sports Illustrated, the NY Times, the Boston Globe, and the Washington Post. Mr. Stone serves as an elder at Faith Bible Church.
Scott Crowell
Member, Place 7, Term Expires 2010
Mr. Crowell is the manager of the Shell station in Royse City. Throughout the years, the Crowell Clan has been enthusiastic supporters of Royse City Schools. Scott, a Royse City High graduate, is an active member of the First Baptist Church, and participates in the Awanas Club and the RCH Booster Club and Quarterback Club. Crowell attended Trinity Valley Junior College and Texas Tech University.
